They are the legendary Shrouded Isles, wherein lies the Fount of Wizardry. It is said that every thousand years they rise forth from the ocean, and that whomsoever claims this power will reign ascendant for the next thousand... Even now your rivals are surely aware of the archipelago's emergence, and are laying plans for its conquest."

The Shrouded Isles is the first scenario of the Wizard's Isle campaign in Heroes of Might and Magic II: The Price of Loyalty.

Your mission is to vanquish the warring mages in the magical Shrouded Isles. The completion of this task will give you a fighting chance against your rivals.OffBck

The hero, seeking the powerful Fount of Wizardry, managed to defeat several of their rivals on the Shrouded Isles. They then prepared themselves for difficult struggles ahead.

Walkthrough[]

A single blue wizard starts out on the southern island. The nearby Wizard town can be captured, providing them with income and creatures.

The southwestern island has a red wizard castle, while the southeastern one has a green warlock castle and town. The central island has two orange sorceress castles, and the eastern one has two yellow necromancer castles. All of these start off with limited forces, and can be dealt with quite early - and the sooner, the better.

The player should capture the wizard town in their island, then grab all resources on it. Build garrisons in the castle, then head to the east to take out the warlock player. Also, leave some of the steel golems in the castle so that one of the heroes in the player's castle can defend it from a red wizard player who will land on the blue wizard's island and try to take the castle. There's a very slight chance that the wizard hero will land in the central island instead. If that happens, the sorceress hero will eventually defeat or chase away the wizard hero from the island.

Once the warlock faction has been eliminated, head to the middle island to take out the sorceress faction. Afterwards, take out the yellow necromancer player in the northeast. Head to the southwestern island to take out the red wizard player once the previous three players have been eliminated.

The most dangerous foe on the map is the purple wizard castle on the northern island. They have a large force of titans that will be difficult to deal with. Luckily, the only way to get on or off their part of the island is a two-way gate, protected by an aqua-colored barrier. The traveller's tent is located on the eastern part of the same island, but since they can't get to it, they're forced to stay where they are until the player gets rid of the barrier leading to their domain. Once the player is ready to finish the map, go through the portal, and attack the purple faction to win the scenario.
