Fire Magic is a school of magic in Heroes of Might and Magic III. Any hero with a spellbook may learn level 1 and 2 spells. To learn higher level spells, a hero needs the Wisdom (H3) skill.

All friendly units receives a +6 attack rating bonus for hand-to-hand attacks. Ash is a specialist for this spell. This spell can be cast by ogre magi.

Heroes III Curse Curse

6 One enemy target unit inflicts minimum damage when it attacks. One enemy target unit inflicts ((80% of their minimum damage) – 1) when it attacks. All enemy units inflict ((80% of their minimum damage) – 1) when they attack. Curse can sometimes be inflicted by black knights and dread knights. It can be replaced by bless spell. An army with the hero equipped with the Pendant of Holiness artifact is immune to this spell.
It can sometimes also be inflicted by mummies. Icon-H3X1
The hero equipped with the Armor of the Damned artifact casts this spell at all enemy units at the beginning of the combat (even if they haven't learned the spell). Icon-H3X2

5 Damage from Fire Magic spells is reduced by 30% for target, allied troop. Damage from Fire Magic spells is reduced by 50% for target, allied troop. Damage from Fire Magic spells is reduced by 50% for all allied troops. Energy elementals can cast this spell. Icon-H3X1

10 One enemy target unit is frozen until they are attacked. Deactivating attack is retaliated at 50% of base attack rating. One enemy target unit is frozen until they are attacked. Deactivating attack is retaliated at 25% of base attack rating. One enemy target unit is frozen until they are attacked. Deactivating attack is not retaliated. Blind can sometimes be inflicted by unicorns and war unicorns. An army with the hero equipped with the Pendant of Second Sight artifact is immune to this spell. Undead and mechanical units are immune to this spell.
Heroes III FireWall Fire wall

8 A two hex wide wall of fire is produced at target hex. A troop passing through these hexes takes ((Power x 10) + 10) damage. Same as Basic effect, except that wall of fire is three hexes wide and damage is ((Power x 10) +20). Same as Advanced effect, except that damage is ((Power x 10) + 50). Casting remove obstacle spell at advanced or higher level removes fire wall. Flying units passing through are immune to this spell, unless they land on it. This spell lasts for two rounds.
Luna is a specialist for this spell, for the spell's damage is doubled. Icon-H3X1

15 Troops in target hex and its surrounding hexes take ((Power x 10) + 15) damage. Same as Basic effect, except that damage is ((Power x 10) + 30). Same as Basic effect, except that damage is ((Power x 10) + 60). Xarfax is a specialist for this spell.
Heroes III LandMine Land mine
(combat spell)
18 Landmines are placed in four random hexes on the battlefield. A troop stepping on a mine takes ((Power x 10) + 25) damage. Enemy creatures battling on their native terrain can see the mines and can cross them safely. To all others they are invisible. Same as Basic effect, except that six mines are placed, and damage is ((Power x 10) + 50). Same as Basic effect, except that six mines are placed, and damage is ((Power x 10) + 100). Land mines are placed as a moat during a siege on a Tower citadel or castle, and are removed once triggered. Using dispel spell at Expert level removes this spell.

12 One enemy target unit's luck rating is reduced by one. One enemy target unit's luck rating is reduced by two. All enemy units' luck rating are reduced by two. The hero equipped with the Armor of the Damned artifact casts this spell at all enemy units at the beginning of the combat (even if they haven't learned the spell). Icon-H3X2

Magma elementals are immune to this spell. A hero with Armageddon's Blade artifact can cast this spell, where it only affects enemy units. Icon-H3X1
Heroes III Berserk Berserk

20 Target attacks nearest troop. All creatures in a 1 hex radius affected. Target attacks nearest troop. All creatures in a 2 hex radius (7 hexes total) affected. Target attacks nearest troop. All creatures in a 3 hex radius (19 hexes total) affected. An army with the hero equipped with the Pendant of Dispassion artifact is immune to this spell.
Heroes III FireShield Fire shield
(combat spell)
16 20% of hand-to-hand damage inflicted on target, allied troop is counter-inflicted on attackers of the troop. Same as Basic effect except that 25% of damage is counter-inflicted. Same as Basic effect except that 30% of damage is counter-inflicted. Efreet sultans have this ability.
Heroes III Frenzy Frenzy

16 One friendly unit's attack rating is increased by 100% of the troop's defense rating, and its defense rating is reduced to zero. Same as Basic effect, except attack rating is increased to 150% of the troop's defense rating. Same as Advanced effect, except attack rating is increased to 200% of the troop's defense rating.
Heroes III Inferno Inferno

16 Strikes target hex, and all hexes within two hexes for ((Power x 10) + 20) damage. Same as Basic effect, except that damage is ((Power x 10) + 40). Same as Basic effect, except that damage is ((Power x 10) + 80). Xyron is a specialist for this spell.
Heroes III Slayer Slayer

16 One friendly target unit's attack rating is increased by eight against behemoths, dragons, and hydras. Same as Basic effect, except that attack bonus also affects devils and angels. Same as Advanced effect, except attack bonus also affects titans. Coronius is a specialist for this spell.

25 Target, non-undead troop is sacrificed (destroyed). Then another target troop has ((Power + destroyed unit's creature base Health + 3) x # of creatures sacrificed) in health total of creatures returned to life. Same as Basic effect, except that health total of creatures resurrected is ((Power + destroyed unit's creature base Health + 6) x # of creatures sacrificed). Same as Basic effect, except that health total of creatures resurrected is ((Power + destroyed unit's creature base Health + 10) x # of creatures sacrificed).
Heroes III FireElemental Summon fire elemental

25 A troop containing (Power x 2) fire elementals appears on the side of the casting player. Only one type of elemental can be summoned. Same as Basic effect, except that (Power x 3) fire elementals are summoned. Same as Basic effect, except that (Power x 4) fire elementals are summoned.

  • If the hero knows magic arrow or visions spell and has a proficiency in Fire Magic skill, these spells are treated as Fire-aligned rather than Air-aligned.
