The mage is the fifth tier unit of the Wizard faction in Heroes of Might and Magic II, recruited by building an ivory tower in a Wizard town.

The mage is the second ranged unit of the Wizard faction, and is a good all-around ranged unit. Although they receive no penalty for attacking adjacent units, mages should be careful to avoid enemies closing to melee, as their hit points and defense are below average for a fifth tier unit.
