Fireguard is an advanced class in Heroes of Might and Magic IV, based on the Combat and Chaos magic skills. A hero has to have at least two ranks in both skills to become a fireguard.

A fireguard is immune to fire effects (just like efreeti and phoenixes).

They can't be affected by fire based direct damage spells (such as firebolt, fire ring and fireball), take half damage from fire-based attacks, and are immune to firebreath effect if they are the second target.

Skills

The Fireguard is most likely to learn Combat and Chaos magic and fairly likely to learn the Tactics, Death magic and Nature magic skills. Fireguards can not learn Life magic or Order magic when leveling up unless some basic training in those skills is already known.

Comments

Sorcerers that become a fireguard can be quite dangerous early on, and are a good pairing with Black dragons and the Armageddon spell, as this normally self-destructive spell will do no harm to yourself in this setup.
