Gold is the ever-present, ever-needed resource of any Might and Magic and Heroes of Might and Magic game. Wherein Might and Magic games it simply serves as the in-game currency to purchase items for your inventory or to upgrade skills, the Heroes series expanded upon this concept.
In Heroes[]
In this spin-off series, gold allows players to purchase buildings, units, artifacts, resources at the market, and various other things.
The income depends on the town type, and if the town contains a town hall, or a capitol. Some heroes have a bonus, allowing for more income. This can also be increased if the heroes hold artifacts that also give gold.
Gold mines are also found and can be easily claimed, and in the early heroes games. Abandoned mines often turn into gold mines after defeating ghosts or troglodytes.
