The Faerie Dragons have a new look in Heroes IV, compared to their bug-eyed neutral buddies from III. They can be purchased from the enchanting Magic Forest in the Preserve town.

The Faerie Dragon, as we all know, is a Spellcaster. The spells at your disposal if you should get one include: 'Fire Ring', 'Confusion', 'Fire Ball', and the powerful 'Lightning Strike'. Neat, huh? The Faerie Dragon throws away the sword for a better magically-enhanced defense than the other Level 4 candidate, the Phoenix. Although, a extra drop of defense doesn't make up for the apparent lack of health, speed, movement, and attack that its rival does. But the range and extra spell points can be effective if backed up by a good walker or two.
