A blessing is a spell type designed to enhance the abilities or attributes of the target on which it is cast, or bestow new ones.

Blessings are positive spells that augment your creatures' capabilities. They can boost movement and speed, increase damage or defense, replace lost hit points and generate additional ones, add to morale or luck, reflect damage back on the attacker, grant extra attacks, and ward off entire alignments.

Of course, your enemy may use the same spells on their creatures.

Blessings are the opposite of Curses, which degrade the target's abilities. Note that some spells such as Dispel or Teleport are considered both, since they can either be weal or woe depending on how they are used.

The Life magic school is particularly replete with a wide selection of blesses. Order magic, Chaos magic, and Nature magic have a good selection as well. Death magic however has a very limited number to choose from.

In addition to casters, many creatures are also able to cast blesses.
