For the Conflux grail building, see Aurora Borealias.

"Alas, Kraeger has already retrieved the second piece from Glaive Isle, and all that remains is to race for the northern wastes to seek out the last piece. Whoever regains this piece will have an advantage when it comes time to bring the traitor to ground.

Curiously, our scouts have returned with strange tales of verdant green lands in midst of the snowy wastes. Whether these tales are true or merely the ramblings of snow blinded travelers, none can tell.
"

Aurora Borealis is the sixth scenario of the The Price of Loyalty campaign in Heroes of Might and Magic II: The Price of Loyalty.

The Empire is weak in this region. You will be unable to completely subdue all forces in this area, so take what you can before reprisal strikes. Remember, your true goal is to claim the Helmet of Anduran.OffBck

Unable to reach the island where the necromancers keep the Helmet of Anduran, the heroes of the Empire locate a scroll of Dimension Door, taking the fight to the undead and claiming their prize.

Walkthrough[]

The Empire begins in the southwestern corner with a Knight castle and hero, equipped with the Breastplate of Anduran. If the player arrived from the Giant's Pass, they have a daily +2 wood bonus, and an elven alliance that guarantees that all neutral elf stacks on the map will join them - which is useful, as there are a few large stacks of grand elves.

The yellow player has a Barbarian castle and a hero to the north, and the red player has three barbarian castles and heroes to the east. One of the red barbarian castles will be located close to the yellow player. The hero near the castle cannot move far away from the castle, but has a large amount of troops. The green player, located on the island, has a Necromancer castle and a hero. This hero wields the Helmet of Anduran, and defeating him and claiming the artifact is the goal of the scenario.

For the starter reward, the boots can allow the player to beat the Barbarian towns which most people recommend avoiding.

Gather the player's forces and take the nearby gold mine. Once the player upgrades to rangers, quickly rush the barbarian castle to the north. Use it to train ogre lords and trolls, then rush eastward. The player should have sufficient forces to beat the enemy; if not (if they gathered all in one place), hit the other barbarian castle, then alternate the attacks between the two until the red player is wiped out.

Grab the scroll of Dimension door northwest of the player's Barbarian castle. Gather a fresh week of Barbarian forces, then dimension door to the island. Keep a slot to recruit the elves, then attack the Necromancer castle to finish the scenario. Thanks to the combined might of three barbarian castles, it should be fairly easy to win.
