An assassin has permanent haste cast upon them, giving a +3 bonus to speed and movement, allowing them to usually strike first.
The Assassin is most likely to learn Combat and Death Magic and fairly likely to learn Scouting and Chaos magic. Assassins can not learn Nobility, Life Magic, Order Magic or Nature Magic when leveling up unless some basic training in those skills is already known.
Necromancers make the most likely candidate for assassins. The combination of combat skills, death magic, and necromancy can be quite deadly.
